David Garrison, Church Planting Movements: How God Is Redeeming a Missing World. WIGTake Resources, 2004. 360 pages. David Garrison paints a compelling picture for how God may be working among the nations to bring many to himself through Church Planting Movements (hereafter CPM). That’s the simple goal of his popular book: Church Planting Movements: How David Garrison’s Church Planting Movements examines many of the common features and practices that have led hundreds of thousands of people across the world to profess a faith in Jesus. In the book, he characterizes a CPM (“Church Planting Movements”), as “.. a rapid multiplication of indigenous church planting churches that sweeps through a people group or population segment” (21). 24/10/2015 Church Planting Movements by David Garrison goes straight to my “4-and-5-star-books” shelf on Goodreads. It’s an easy 5/5. I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a book that I was entirely enthusiastic approximately. This one was my fortunate break.

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a book that I was entirely enthusiastic about. Yet in this book, David Garrison shares a powerful three-part dissection of the global phenomenon of Church Planting Movements (CPMs), and I firmly believe that Parts 3-4 should be necessary reading for all prospective missionaries, pastors, and lay leaders.

After first introducing a number of various CPMs around the globe from recent times David Garrison, Church Planting Movements: How God is Redeeming a Lost World. Midlothian, VA: Wigtake, 2004. David Garrison’s Church Planting Movements examines numerous of the common features and practices that have led hundreds of thousands of people across the world to profess a faith in Jesus. In the book, he characterizes a CPM (“Church 01/01/2003 David Garrison’s book “Church Planting Movements: How God is Redeeming a Missing World” contains 360 pages divided into 17 chapters plus a number of appendices. The leading aim of this book is to document the contemporary day explosion of cell and house churches that are termed “church planting movements” or CPMs. 11/08/2011 Church Planting Movements: How God is Redeeming a Lost World by David Garrison and published by the International Mission Board is a very helpful text. In my opinion this book should be read by all Christian leaders at any level, or anyone concerned approximately God’s sample for the church in the 21st David Garrison calls these occurrences Church Planting Movements, and within the pages of his book by the same name he provides their stories and lessons the Church as a whole can learn from them. Revivals are highly desirable, but they’re not Church Planting Movements. Evangelistic crusades and wit-nessing programs may lead thousands to Christ, and that’s won-derful, but it isn’t the same as a Church Planting Movement.
