Duke of My Heart
Duke of My Heart by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! The heroine in this historical romance is a fixer who tries to smooth throughout scandals. Some readers felt there was too much going on plot and character wise. But numerous loved the heroine. I’ve enjoyed Bowen’s books, but haven’t read this one
Scandal can be handled…
Captain Maximus Harcourt, the unconventional tenth Duke of Alderidge, can deal with tropical storms, raging seas, and the fiercest of pirates. But he’s returned home from his latest voyage to find a bare earl – fairly inconveniently deceased – tied to his lost sister’s bed. And he has only one place to turn. Now he’s at the mercy of the captivating Miss Ivory Moore of Chegarre & Associates, known throughout London for smoothing over the most dire of scandals.
Miss Moore treats the crisis as though it were no more serious than a cup of spilt tea on an expensive rug. As though this sort of object happened on the job every day. Max has never in all his life met a woman with such nerve. Her dark eyes are too wide, her mouth is too full, her cheekbones too sharp. Yet together, she’s somehow…flawless. It’s just like his love for her, imperfect, unforeseen – yet absolutely true.
The Devil’s Own Duke
The Devil’s Own Duke by Lenora Bell is $1.99! This is book two in the Wallflowers vs. Rogues historical romance series. I’m super curious about the heroine and her ardour to keep her family’s vineyard afloat. Foodie romances are having a moment and I’d love to see that trend extend to upcoming historicals.
USA Today bestseller Lenora Bell returns to her Wallflowers vs. Rogues series with a romance between a lady and the scoundrel claiming to be next-in-line for her father’s title.
Lady Henrietta Prince is far too busy for romance. She’s dedicated her life to turning her family vineyards into a profitable wine venture. But when she shares a kiss at midnight with a good-looking stranger, she’s captivated…until he claims to be the distant inheritor to her father’s earldom.
Ash Ellis is a gambler who lives life on the edge. Now he’s locked his sights on a glittering prize and nothing will stand in his way.
When Henrietta is forced to marry the wickedly seductive scoundrel to keep her beloved vineyards, she vows that Ash will never have her trust, or her love. Even provided his kisses are more intoxicating than the finest of wines.
His new bride is certainly beautiful, but biddable? Not so much. Ash will settle for nothing less than Henrietta’s total surrender…but is he the one in danger of losing his heart?
Salt Magic Skin Magic
Salt Magic Skin Magic by Lee Welch is $2.99! This has been mentioned a few times on the site by Aarya and I believe in the comments as well. It’s a m/m magical romance in an alternative Victorian Gothic setting. Have you read this one?
Lord Thornby has been trapped on his father’s remoted Yorkshire estate for a year. There are no bars or chains; he simply can’t leave. His sanity is starting to fray.
When industrial conjuror John Blake arrives to enquire a case of witchcraft, he finds the peculiar, arrogant Thornby as alarming as he is attractive. John soon finds himself caught up in a dark fairytale, where all the rules of magic—and love—are changed.
To set Thornby free, both men must face life-changing truths—and John must accept that the brave, witty man who’s winning his heart may also be about to break it. Can they escape a web of magic that’s as perilous as love?
West End Earl
West End Earl by Bethany Bennett is $3.99! This is book two in the Misfits of Mayfair series and we talked approximately this one on a previous Cover Awe. That yellow is so lovely. The heroine has disguised herself as a man and the hero is her employer.
While most young ladies attend balls and hunt for husbands, Ophelia Hardwick has spent the last ten years masquerading as a man. As the land steward for the Earl of Carlyle, she’s found safety from the uncle determined to kill her and freedoms a lady could only dream of. Ophelia’s situation would be perfect—if only she wasn’t hopelessly attracted to her employer.
Calvin, Earl of Carlyle, is determined to see his sister married this season. And he’ll do it with the help of his trusted right-hand man. But when he finds out his man is a woman, and that her life is in danger, his priorities change. Their attraction is passionate, all-consuming, and whether they aren’t careful, it could turn downright deadly—for both of them.
