Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are going to look at the autobiography of Katherine Ryan.

The Audacity (2021)

Katherine Ryan

Synopsis

From the star of The Duchess and the host of ‘Telling Everybody Everything’, the debut book from superstar comic Katherine Ryan, The Audacity combines Katherine’s unerring ear for the perfect line with the warmth, compassion and hard-won wisdom that makes up a life on and off stage.

– from WH Smith

Positive Points

Provided you are looking for a comedians autobiography that takes you on an emotional, no bars or holding back then this is the book for you. The good think approximately Katherine Ryan is that she is sincere and doesn’t care what people think and that is why this is such a good read. It allows you to gain an perception into the way that she became a comedian, the relationship dramas on the way and also whilst having fun with her daughter growing up whilst she is a busy working mum.

Negative Points

I would say one of the negatives is that you do not really want the book to end as it is really interesting. I think maybe provided I was being critical there may need to be a bit more approximately her career in television and stand up but I do not know what it would bring to the book.

Overall Review

This is a refreshing read, it allows you to look at the world of a comedian in a different light. As a reader, I really appreciated the honesty and the look at the world of comedy that you may not of thought of before. It is really easy to read and enjoy Katherines style of writing as well.
